Kristy Wooler, O.D.
Biography
Doctor Wooler grew up in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Upon graduation from New Bedford High School, she attended
Providence College, where she received a Bachelors degree in Mathematics, graduating with the highest GPA in her major.
Dr. Wooler's rewarding experiences working in vision care as an ophthalmic technician during her college years,
led her to the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA, where she received her Doctor of Optometry Degree and
graduated as class valedictorian. Upon graduation, Dr. Wooler married her high school sweetheart and went on to pursue
a residency in ocular disease at OCB working as part of Dr. Shingleton's team. Here she received intensive training in
the diagnosis and management of various ocular disease states, particularly in the areas of cataract and glaucoma. Dr.
Wooler also had the opportunity to become involved in Dr. Shingleton's pseudoexfoliation research. This year, she was
honored to be offered a permanent position as a member of the team at Dr. Shingleton's OCB Cape Cod locations and she is
excited to be affiliated with a world renowned organization.
Doctor Wooler and her husband have since relocated from their apartment outside of Fenway Park to the suburbs of
southeastern MA, where they recently purchased their first home. They are thoroughly enjoying all the benefits of
homeownership, including backyard barbeques with family and friends, and even learning a thing or two about lawn care!
