Kathi Jeffers -- Administrative Supervisor
Kathi grew up in Quincy, Ma and resides in Hanson. Kathi is one of five girls and has a twin sister, Kerri. After graduating from high school, Kathi attended Bunker Hill Community College and studied Human Services. She joined OCB in 1990, working in various positions before joining Dr. Shingleton's team. Kathi enjoys spending time with her husband and they both enjoy trying new adventures. She also enjoys reading novels, walking, and spending quality time with her two nephews. Kathi and her husband are planning a trip to Italy in the near future.

Ann Petrou -- Cape Cod Surgical Coordinator
Ann was born and raised in northern New Jersey. After graduating from The Catholic University of America with degrees in history and education, she taught school until the birth of her son, Stephen. Ann and her husband, Andrew, then owned and operated a home decorating business in Sparta, New Jersey , for twenty-two years. They moved to Cape Cod after summering here for many years. Ann enjoys reading mysteries, the beach, beadwork and gardening.

Roberta Levey -- Practice Manager
Roberta was born and raised in Danbury, CT and came to the Boston area to attend Simmons College. After receiving a B.A. in Management, Roberta worked for the Boston Edison Company for 26 years in various managerial positions. In 1995 she returned to school to earn an M.B.A. Then in 1999, she retired (early!) from Boston Edison. She enjoyed a year of leisure before returning to the workforce to begin her second career as a medical transcriptionist at OCB. Roberta lives in New Hampshire with her husband and cat. Roberta has been in her current position since August 2003.

Kerri Newton- Surgical Coordinator
Kerri was born in Stoughton, Ma and now resides in Dedham, Ma with her husband, John, of seven years. After graduating from Blue Hill Regional High School in 1993, Kerri attended Massasoit Community College where she participated in the medical assisting program. Kerri joined OCB in 1998 and has worked in various positions before joining Dr. Shingleton’s team. Kerri enjoys camping and spending time with her family.

Lecia Lacy - Transcriptonist
Lecia was raised in Lewiston, Maine and graduated Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts. After a somewhat brief medical transcription career, she moved on to administrative support and commissioned sales in the world of contract office furniture. Since then, she has moved to Cape Cod, married (again), has a wonderful husband, a fantastic daughter and two terrific stepchildren. She returned to medical transcription in 1997 and joined the Shingleton team in 2001.

Mary E. MacNeil-Cape Cod Coordinator
Mary was born and raised in S. Weymouth and she raised her two children, Diane and David in Duxbury. Mary received her degree in Liberal Arts in 1994 and joined OCB and Dr. Shingleton’s team that year. Mary worked in Boston and on the Cape for years before purchasing a home on the Cape. With Dr. Shingleton’s increased focus on his Cape Cod practice, Mary now provides full-time support for administrative, clinical and surgical aspects of his practice. She is a Girl Scout, enjoys gardening, reading, spending time with her family, traveling and of course, the beach.

Karen Sandven-Diagnostic Technician
Karen grew up in Wellesley Massachusetts. She came to ophthalmology from a nursing background and has worked with Dr. Shingleton doing special testing since 1990. She lives in Osterville with her husband. She has three grown children and seven grandchildren. Her interests include spending time with the grandkids, gardening, hiking, and classical music.

Clinical Team

Kim Fantini -- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant
Kim has been working for OCB since 1990 and joined Dr. Shingleton's team shortly thereafter. She became a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant in 1991. She has been happily married for 4 � years. Kim and her husband spend most of their free time fixing up their big old house. Since the birth of their son Nicholas in July of 1998, Kim works only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In her spare time she loves to cook and try new recipes.

Janice Regan -- Certified Operating Room Technician
Janice is a Certified Operating Room Technician. She received her training at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lowell, MA and has worked at the New England Baptist Hospital and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Although her background was in general surgery, she developed a strong interest in eye surgery and was chosen to participate in the Massachusetts Eye and Ear's program to become a " First Assistant in Cataract Surgery." She held this position for three years, participating in many cataract procedures. She left the Infirmary to work in a private practice because she wanted more patient contact and the opportunity to expand her surgical skills. Janice has since become a Certified Ophthalmic Technician.

Meghan Gillespie -- Ophthalmic Technician
Meghan was raised in Burlington, VT and Andover, MA. After graduating from Andover High School, Meghan attended the University of Delaware. She graduated in May 2003 with a B.A. in Biology. Meghan moved back to the Boston area and joined OCB and Dr. Shingleton’s team in December 2003. She enjoys working as a technician and helping the patients.

Amy E. Wade- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant
Amy was born and raised in Raynham and graduated from Bridgewater-Raynham H.S. Amy joined OCB in 2000 in our Boston office. She was called on active duty with her Army National Guard unit in July 2002, and spent several months in Afghanistan. She has since returned and has plans to be married in October. Amy and Bill, her fianc�, happily live in their Cape Cod home with their puppy, Daisy.

Marie L. Douglas-Certified Ophthalmic Assistant
Marie was born in Boston and moved to the Cape as a child. After graduating from Wareham High School, Marie took courses at Boston University Medical School for ophthalmic assisting. She started working for OCB at the Cape office soon after. Marie is married to Joseph and they have an English Mastiff named Boston

Karen M. Withers - Certified Ophthalmic Assistant
Karen was born and raised in Malden, Massachusetts where she graduated from Malden High School. After graduating from high school, Karen trained and worked as an ophthalmic assistant in the Boston area for several years in which time she became certified as an ophthalmic assistant. In the summer of 1998, Karen moved to the Cape and has since worked for Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. Karen is married with two beautiful children, Scott and Brooke.
